Whole Life Insurance in Flower Mound
Whole life is permanent coverage built to pay out whenever you pass. Your payment is locked in when the policy is issued, and a cash account grows inside it each year. We show you what it costs, which parts are guaranteed and which are not, and we put each step in writing.
Coverage that does not run out
Whole life insurance never reaches an expiration date. Keep the premiums current and the contract remains active for the rest of your life. The premium is locked when the policy is issued and does not rise, and part of each payment builds cash value you can borrow against later.
For an equal face amount, the premium usually runs well above a term policy, sometimes by a multiple. So we start by asking what the money is for. Leaving something to a beneficiary no matter when you pass, covering final costs and estate expenses, providing for a child who will always need support, or funding a business buyout are sound reasons. If you only need coverage while a mortgage is open or children are young, term life may do the job for less, and we will tell you that plainly.
Clients across Flower Mound and nearby towns like Highland Village and Argyle get the same approach: we document what we found in the coverage they already hold, what we recommended and why, and what we submitted. You keep copies of all of it.
What our whole life work includes
A review of what you already own
We read your existing policies, including group coverage through work, and note face amounts, beneficiaries and any cash value. You see that summary before we suggest anything new.
Illustrations read line by line
Every illustration splits its numbers in two: what the carrier contractually promises, and what it projects if future dividends hold up. We go through both sets with you, so you never mistake a projection for a promise.
Payment schedule options
Premiums can run for life, end after a set number of years, or stop at a chosen age. We lay the options next to each other so you can weigh a higher payment now against no payment later.
Riders, with their cost
Paid-up additions, waiver of premium and accelerated benefits for terminal illness each change what the policy does. Each one also adds cost, and we show that figure before you decide.
Beneficiary setup
We help you name primary and contingent beneficiaries and think through cases like minor children, who cannot receive proceeds directly, or a trust.

Signs whole life may be the right fit
You want coverage with no end date
Term policies expire, and renewing later in life can be expensive or impossible. Whole life is built to pay out whenever you pass.
Your term policy is nearing its end
Plenty of term contracts include a conversion option that moves you onto permanent coverage with no fresh health underwriting. That option expires on a date written in the policy, and we look it up for you.
A family member needs lifelong support
A child with special needs or an aging relative may count on money that arrives whenever it is needed, not only within a set term.
Your plans need cash at a set moment
Estate expenses or a partner buyout agreement can call for funds the day a policy pays, without selling other assets.
You value a fixed, predictable payment
Some clients simply prefer a premium that will never change and cash value that grows on a guaranteed schedule.
From first conversation to issued policy
- 1
A conversation by phone
We talk about your goals, your budget and any coverage you already have. If whole life does not suit what you describe, we say so on that call.
- 2
Review and illustrations
We summarize your current coverage in writing and prepare illustrations for the options worth considering, with the guaranteed and projected values explained.
- 3
Application and underwriting
We complete the application with you. The carrier may ask for medical records or a short exam, and several weeks is a common timeline before a decision.
- 4
Policy delivery
When the policy is issued, we compare it against what you applied for, page by page. The policy states a free-look window when you can still cancel for a refund, and we point it out.
- 5
Later check-ins
Marriages, births and business changes can call for new beneficiaries. We revisit the policy with you when life shifts.
What shapes a whole life premium
Whole life premiums are fixed for the life of the policy, so the details at purchase matter a great deal. We explain each factor so the number on your quote makes sense. You get your quote by phone, and the figures in it are the ones the carrier provides, not estimates of our own.
- Your age at issue
- Carriers spread a level premium across the years they expect to collect it, so starting earlier means a smaller payment every month for the life of the policy.
- Health and tobacco use
- Underwriting class is set by health history and tobacco use. A better class can lower the premium noticeably.
- Face amount
- The size of the benefit drives the premium directly. We work out what the money has to cover, then match the face amount to that figure rather than rounding up.
- How long you pay
- Paying over a shorter span, such as twenty years, raises each payment but ends them sooner.
- Riders you add
- Each rider carries its own cost. Paid-up additions in particular can raise the payment while building cash value faster.
Whole life questions we hear often
Something not covered here? (972) 364-4987
Is whole life a good investment?
It is insurance first. Cash value grows conservatively and steadily, which some clients like, but it is not built to compete with market returns. We treat it as coverage with a savings feature and look at it that way with you.
Can I borrow against the cash value?
Yes, once enough cash value has built up. Interest accrues on the loan, and any balance unpaid at death is subtracted from what your beneficiary receives. We show you how a loan would affect the policy before you take one.
What happens if I stop paying premiums?
Most whole life policies offer choices: take the surrender value in cash, keep a smaller paid-up policy, or switch to term coverage for a set period. Surrendering in the early years can cost you, since surrender charges and slow early cash value growth often mean you get back less than you paid.
Do I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, your age and the amount of coverage. Some policies rely on health questions and records alone, while bigger face amounts often bring a brief visit from a paramedical examiner. You will know which path your application takes before anything is submitted.
How does whole life compare with universal life?
Whole life locks in the payment and builds cash value on a schedule the carrier guarantees. Universal life lets you adjust what you pay and how much coverage you carry, which brings flexibility along with more to keep an eye on. Our Universal Life Insurance page walks through that option in more detail.
